At Judd Orthodontics, we offer clear aligner treatment as an alternative to traditional braces. This advanced treatment uses a series of custom-made, transparent plastic trays to gradually shift your teeth into their ideal positions over time. Dr. Judd will take precise impressions of your teeth and have your custom aligners created for you to ensure you are comfortable throughout your treatment.
Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners have no wires or brackets. Each set moves your teeth little by little until they are perfectly aligned. The convenience of being able to take the trays out to eat, brush, and floss, as well as no restrictions to your diet, make this a popular treatment for teens and adults who want to straighten their teeth easily and discreetly.
The aligners should be worn at all times except when eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, or flossing. Each set is typically changed every two weeks as your teeth shift into place.
The Procedure for Clear Aligner Treatment in Mesa and Queen Creek
First, you will meet with Dr. Judd to discuss your orthodontic needs and goals. If you are a good candidate for clear aligner treatment, we will take impressions of your teeth and create a treatment plan. Based on the treatment plan, we will custom-make a series of clear plastic aligners for you using 3D printing technology.
You will wear each aligner for a set period, typically one to two weeks, before moving on to the next aligner in the series. The aligners should be worn for at least 22 hours daily and removed only to eat and brush the teeth.
Dr. Judd will schedule periodic check-ups to monitor your treatment progress and make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. Once you have worn all of the aligners in the series, your teeth should be properly aligned. We may provide a retainer to help maintain the new alignment of the teeth.
The Advantages of Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are virtually invisible, making them an excellent option for those who don't want to draw attention to their orthodontic treatment.
Clear aligners are removable, so you can take them out when you eat, brush, and floss. This can make it easier to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment.
Clear aligners are made from a smooth, comfortable plastic material that is less likely to irritate the mouth and gums than traditional metal braces. Clear aligners can treat many orthodontic issues, including crowded teeth, spacing issues, and bite problems.
Clear aligner treatment can be an effective and discreet option if you want to straighten your teeth without the look of traditional braces.
